2 more held in Phoolan Devi murder case DEHRA DUN: Uttaranchal police on Tuesday arrested two persons who had allegedly forged documents to secure bail for Sher Singh Rana, the prime accused in Phoolan Devi murder case, and Ravinder alias Rajinder, "fully unravelling" Rana's gameplan to put an alibi in the case, a top police official said. "With the arrest of Surinder Singh and Pradip Singh, who had forged documents for securing bail for Rana and Ravinder, the gameplan of Rana to put an alibi in the case has been fully unravelled," Director General of Police Ashok Kant Sharan said. They were arrested Tuesday afternoon from Shyampur area of Haridwar on a tip off, he said. During interrogation they confessed that they had forged documents for securing the bail of both Sher Singh Rana and Ravinder in a Haridwar court on July 26, he said. Pradip told the police that one Sharavan was lodged in the Hardwar jail in place of Rana in an excise case of December 1996 but Ravinder was actually present in the jail, the DGP said, adding Rajvir, arrested earlier, was also involved in the conspiracy to forge bail documents. Pradip and Surinder had shown their names as Vijay Rana alias Raju (Rana's brother) and Virendra Giri respectively in the bail application, but had affixed their own photographs, Sharan said. A Delhi Police team is arriving at Haridwar shortly to take the two to Delhi, he said.(
