BSP MP writes to Advani on threat New Delhi, April 24: Bahujan Samaj Party Member of Parliament Raashid Alvi, who charged the Ambanis with indulging in misappropriation of public funds, on Tuesday said there was a threat to his life. “My life is in danger, I am receiving threatening calls everyday with the caller promising to take my life soon.” Alvi said. “It was only yesterday (Monday) evening that three or four unidentified persons followed me to my residence with an ulterior motive; this has put me and my family members under tremendous mental trauma,” Alvi said. When this correspondent met Alvi, he was preparing a note to Union Home Minister L K Advani and Lok Sabha Speaker G.M.C. Balayogi to inform them about the incident and demand adequate security cover for him and his family. When asked about the follow-up action after the allegation that the Reliance Group misappropriated Rs 1,675 crore for rigging its shares and for personal benefits, Alvi, a member of the standing committee on Finance, said the only action was in the form of acknowledgements from the Prime Minister on receipt of his complaints. |
