VISAKHAPATNAM: Dalits in large numbers staged a demonstration in protest against the practice of untouchability at Kusuluvada village of Anandapuram mandal in Visakhapatnam district of Andhra Pradesh on Wednesday.

They warned the caste Hindus, landlords and hoteliers to give up the practice of separate glasses for dalits.

The direct action committee against casteism and untouchability at a public meeting, later, called for launching a "second freedom struggle" against the social evils.

The pro-CPM committee held cultural shows stressing the need to shun social evils.
