Dharna by dhobis enters 15th day
Our Correspondent The dharna started by the local Dhobi Mahasabha against the construction of a hall entered the 15th day yesterday. Mr Rakesh Kanojia, state president of the mahasabha, has said the Dhobi Mahasabha will not allow the Pathankot Municipal Council to grab the land of the local dhobi ghat for commercial or any other purpose for the welfare of the community. Taking a strong view of the construction of a hall on the land in the vicinity of the ghat near the cremation ground by the municipal council here, Mr Kanojia-warned the Sabha would resort to a statewide agitation to protect the land belonging to the dhobi community. |
