Dilip Singh recalls Ambedkar’s services VISAKHAPATNAM: National Commission for SCs and STs Chairman Dilip Singh Bhuria yesterday said Babasaheb Ambedkar was responsible for social transformation in India and wanted that every Dalit should work to forge unity and solidarity among the SCs and STs. Addressing a meeting of the representatives of SCs and STs working in various public sector undertakings at the Ambedkar Bhavan here, Bhuria said Ambedkar inspired him to go up in life. The members of the SC/ST Employees Associations, led by BHPV senior manager V Raghavendra Rao, represented their grievances to Bhuria at the meeting. Strict implementation of reservations in promotions for SCs/STs, stopping the practice of diversion of Central funds allocated for the SCs/STs, recruitment of SCs/STs in PSUs to compensate for the exit of employees under the VRS scheme, loans for educated unemployed youth to enable them to set up their own enterprises, separate reservations for SC/ST women, special financial aid to SC/ST students for higher studies, taking into possession Government lands occupied by landlords in villages and withdrawal of post-based reservations were the main demands of the employees |
