Vijayawada, Aug. 29: A Dalit woman was gang-raped by eight persons while she was returning from an agricultural field at Kolavennu under the Kankipadu mandal on August 18.

The woman lodged a complaint with the Kanikipadu police station on Tuesday night. The woman said Kolavennu Srinivasa Rao and seven others took her to a nearby field and raped her. She said she could not file a complaint with the police on the same day as her husband was out of station. Kankipadu police is investigating the case.
