Four Dalits lynched in Bhojpur

ARA: Four Dalits were lynched by a group of people in Bihar's Bhojpur district on Sunday, suspecting their involvement in stealing of a rifle belonging to a wealthy farmer, a senior police officer said.

Four Dalits, belonging to "Natt" community, were picked by a group of people from Kori village and brought to Kharaincha village for questioning following the theft of the licensed rifle of Upendra Singh, inspector-general of police (operations) Neelmani said.

As they pleaded ignorance about the theft, Singh's men beat them up mercilessly to death, Neelmani said. Senior district police officers have rushed to the spot. No arrests have been made so far. (PTI)
