Thiruvananthapuram, March 25 : The Joint Action Committee for Ambedkar Statue Installation by coordinating all SC-ST bodies will launch an indefinite hunger-strike before the Secretariate from April 14 onwards, according to its Chairperson Adv. K. V. Kumaran.

"At all costs, Dr. Ambedkar statue will be installed in front of the Assembly itself", he declared. Since the High Court had already issued directions that the statue should be installed at no place other than the Assembly complex, the LDF Government is left with only two alternatives of installing it there or nowhere else, he recalled.

Adv. Kumaran, who is also Chairperson of Social Democratic Party (SDP) formed for protecting rights of SC-STs and other weaker sections, also said that it would support the Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF) in the forthcoming Assembly elections only if they agreed with SDP demands.
