'Innocence and ignorance main causes of atrocities on tribals`
DH News Service Innocence and ignorance are the main causes of atrocities on the tribal population in the country. This can be rectified by proper education and awareness, said Deputy Superintendent of Police for Dandeli M S Pawar.He was speaking at a meeting of Gowli and Siddi tribals in Chhotakan Shirda village near Dandeli, organised by the Green India Trust, an organisation working for the Tribal Empowerment Project. The project director of the Green India Trust, Mr Mahendra Kumar, explained the aims and objectives of the meeting. Mr A P Warkar, the police sub-inspector, Ambikanagar, Kali Project Township, too answered the queries by the villagers. Convenor of Green India Siddi Tribal Development Association Diag Baptist Siddi, Taluk Panchayat member Navalu Bagu Jore and journalist Krishna Patil also spoke on the occasion. |
