Thiruvananthapuram : The Malayalam version of Kancha Ilaiah’s “Why I am not a Hindu” was released at the YMCA auditorium here on June 8 by a Dalit girl, Ranjini.

Jointly published by “Samvadam” and “Insight” publications, the book was translated by “Samvadam” Editor, S. Sanjeev. The award-winning documentary of one-hour duration, “Lesser Humans”, directed by K. Stalin focussing on the scavengers of Gujarat, “Bhangis”, was screened on the occasion.

The Malayalam version include a discussion between Sanjeev, Susi Tharu (of CIEFL, Hyderabad) and Ilaiah focussing on the Dalits in Kerala as appendix.
