ANAKAPALLE: A relay fast was organised at the Mandal Revenue Ofice here by the Mala Mahanadu activists today, seeking strong police action against persons who attacked Dalits of Maredupudi recently.

Speaking on the occasion, State Dalit Liberation Organisation president KVR Ambedkar said that the dharna was organised in protest against the attitude of the officials over the Maredupudi incident. He demanded proper action by the police in this regard.

Mala Mahanadu honorary president P Simhachalam said the agitation was re-launched because the official machinery had failed in taking action against the culprits responsible for the Maredupudi incident.

The agitators who were demanding compensation to the Dalit victims later ghearoed the Revenue Divisional Officer who arrived at the office, and raised slogans against the govt machinery.
