Hyderabad, June 4: The rally taken out by the Lambada Hakkula Porata Samiti in Lambada thandas all over the State will culminate in a grand public meeting at Hyderabad on June 6.

Addressing a press conference on Monday, samiti State president K S U Naik said the rally was taken out to popularise the demand for recognition of the Lambada thandas as panchayats.

The rally had so far covered 4,000 thandas, in which lakhs of Lambadas participated.

Naik also alleged that the State government had neglected the Lambadas, forcing them to sell even their children out of acute poverty and demanded that the State address the plight of the Lambadas.

The rally will reach Hyderabad on June 6 and the participants will take out a grand rally from Sundarayya Park to Indira Park.

This will be followed by a public meeting at the Indira Park which will be addressed by political leaders and noted social activists.
