SP poser to BJP on MBC quota The Times of India News Service LUCKNOW: General secretary of the Samajwadi Party Ram Asrey Vishwakarma on Thursday wanted to know whether the Bhartiya Janata Party would give reservation to the backwards in the party organisation. In a press statement Vishwakarma stated that it was ironical that a party which was harping endlessly about reservations to the BCs, MBCs and the extremely poor Dalits had people of high caste in all the top slots of the party organisation. He said if the party was so concerned about the welfare of this section of the society then it should ensure that either the party president's post or the chief minister's post went to a BC member. He said the manner in which Om Prakash Singh was removed and Kalraj Mishra made the state president of BJP was still fresh in public mind. Stating that the Congress and the BJP had always opposed reservations for the BC, Vishwakarma said it was SP president Mulayam Singh Yadav who had ensured that 27 pc reservations for the BCs in the panchayats.
