'Police atrocities' on tribals condemned
DECCAN HERALD The Karnataka Vimochana Ranga has strongly condemned the alleged police atrocities on the tribals who were protesting eviction from the Kudremukh area for the development of a national park. The organising secretary of the Vimochana Ranga Lohit K Morkar has stated that the move of the government to curb the agitation by using force will not yield result. The atrocities on the tribals who are fighting for their rights is a mockery of democracy, he added. Warning that the agitation would be intensified if the authorities continued to file 'false` cases against the tribals and producing them before court, he has demanded the government to place under suspension all the police officers who committed the 'atrocities |
