Bahujan Samaj Aur Iski Rajniti

New Delhi, June 3. (PTI): Buoyed by the response in the recent Assembly by-elections, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) today predicted the likelihood of snap polls in Uttar Pradesh and claimed it would secure absolute majority to form the next Government on its own in the State.

``Left Parties and the Congress have been wiped out in Uttar Pradesh and now the BJP base is shrinking rapidly because of the increasing strength of the Bahujan Samaj,'' BSP president Kanshiram said here.

He was addressing a rally after releasing a book `Bahujan Samaj Aur Iski Rajniti' (Bahujan Samaj and its politics) by BSP vice- president and former UP Chief Minister Mayawati on the occasion of the 5th anniversary of the formation of the first party Government in UP.

Charging the BJP with adopting immoral methods to capture power in UP, Kanshiram alleged that over 24 BJP Ministers in the State had criminal background. The BJP is following similar tactics used by Samajwadi Party leader Mulayam Singh Yadav to capture and retain power, he claimed and said people of UP now look forward to the return of the BSP, which had put 1.45 lakh criminals behind bars during its brief tenure in power.
