Congratulating BAMCEF for organizing indigineous scavenger (Valmiki Caste) caste liberation national convention, Mr. M.S. Bahal in his inaugural address said that, he belong to bhangi community from Punjab but presently residing in UK. He is proud to be a bhangi at the same time he is holding so much of bitterness anger against Hindus evil and wicked system of caste, which had been robbing his people for the years.
There are many problems that Valmiki caste people are facing for years. The problems can not be numbered as I am neither historian nor that much intellectual. Today is also a historical day that on the occasion of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s birth Celebration we had gathered here. Babasaheb and his movement had played a vital role in changing my life. I had tried to understand Dr. Ambedkar in depth. I studied his movement, his ideology and there is an humble request for you that, all delegates who had gathered here should also study Dr. Ambedkar. There are so many matters relating to Dr. Ambedkar which our people misunderstands and stand against him. Whenever I had tried to talk on the ideology of Dr. Ambedkar infront of my our brothern, they reacted, what Dr. Ambedkar had given to you? Why you are always prapogating his ideas. But friends, neither Babasaheb nor Ravidasji or Valmiki is my father. My only father is who had given birth to me. But I had taken education from Dr. Ambedkar and he is the real teacher for me. Through constitution he had given all those rights to my brotheren which were denied in manusmritis, shastras and other hindu scriptures. But it will take some time to understand Dr. Ambedkar by my brothers. He had given the very basic fundamental right of vote by which brothers and sisters can now decide who can rule them.
The problems which were existing before indepandance had changed their mode in day-to-day life, but still problems persits, Once I was cleaning all the toiletaries in my town but now I had touched the highest attitude, and the person responsible for this change is only Dr. Ambedkar.
I am atheist. I don’t believe in God, because for the last 54 years we were demanding for liberation but nobody came to our rescue. What we had achieved from these so called gods? Today I am flying at high attitude but I always think of my society, when they will get this chance? When they will become the part of main stream of the society. I am really thankful to one my collegue in London who had shown the path of Dr. Ambedkar to me. Dr. Ambedkar use to say, Go and paint your walls with the slogan that “You were the slaves of yesterday, but you have to become rullers of tomorrow.”
When I returned back to Punjab from London for the first time, I was shocked to see all walls of my house were occupied by many Gods and goddesses. I asked my mother, what is this all? Please remove all the photos, I want to put one such guard on this wall who will not only protect us but also will liberate us from all type of slavery and that guard is Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar. I also remembered one slogan of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, He said that “The Caste in which I am born, if I could not make aware my caste people and will not make them a part of main stream of the society, also the right of equality, then I will shoot myself.” Can anybody had seen such dedication, commitment of any Ram or Krishna or in any Ramayana or Mahabharat or any other Hindu scripture. Hence the only way left with us is to accept Dr. Ambedkar and leave these so called Gods and Goddesses. We will have to accept the ideology given by Dr. Ambedkar. This is the only right path. This will only liberate us from our all type of slavery.
We have data and examples with us, that, only those castes in every state had developed who had accepted Dr. Ambedkar as whole. Though our enemy is more vigilant than us we will have to make every effort to make brotherhood among all depressed caste. Our Valmiki brothern had not have representation in every field but still they have basic right of vote with them. If they will understand the value of every single vote, then they are the deciding factors. They can decide who can be a ruler. Uptil now we believed on congress, but we are left where we were. BJP also following the same path. So if we have to solve our problems. Then we will have, to utilize the voting right very cautiously because at present that is the only tool left with us. Today we will have to take oath that nobody else is going to liberate us. We ourselves will have to liberate. Dr. Ambedkar is ideology, a movement, we will have to mould ourselves into this ideology, this movement, then only we can liberate ourselves.
In London, whenever I am spreading Ambedkarite ideology my brothers limits Dr. Ambedkar to politics and try to keep away from themselves. Dr. Ambedkar once said that if slaves are make awared of their slavery then they will revolt against it. For the last 35 years I am making aware of the slavery to my brothern, but still they are not awared of their slavery, but I am hopefull that with time they will change and in coming future they will also be strongest ambedkarites.
