The International convention at London ended with grand success.
          The International Convention to evaluate freedom struggle for the victims of the caste system, launched by Phuley, Periyar and Dr. Ambedkar and to plan its enhancement for the future was organised by FABO (Federation of Ambedkarites and Buddhist Organisation of UK) on 9th and 10th March 2002 at Dr. Ambedkar Community Center, Upper Zoar Street, Penfield, Wolver Hampton, U.K. from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM on both days. Mr. Maulkiat Singh Bahal, Co-coordinator, BAMCEF International network, played a key role in organising this conference. Almost 100 Delegates from five countries U.S.A. (America), U.K., Canada, Germany, and France attended the conference. From India Mr. Waman Meshram, National President BAMCEF attended the Conference. The Conference was inaugurated by Dr.Rahul Dipankar(Chairman, NRI, USA). In his inaugural speech he stressed on brief history of our people settled in U.S.A., their organisations and how they can assist in internationalisation of our movement. Mr. Maulkiat Singh Bahal, co-coordinator, Bamcef International Network delivered his speech on the topic of urgent need of internationalising the indigenous movement. Mr. Waman Meshram elaborately spoke on the topics (a) Proposed constitutional review and its likely affect on the fundamental rights of the indigenous communities. (b) Atrocities on dalits, its nature, cause and the hidden agenda of the people responsible. (c) DNA research, fact or fiction, its likely effect on the society as a whole and who will benefit from it. (D) Re-writing of Indian History, its implication and motive behind it.
          Mr. Harbhajan Dass Sampla from Punjab also delivered his speech and put up the views on situation of our people in Punjab. Mr. Shekhar Bagul spoke on the topic "Ambedkar struggle beyond SC/ST (for OBC and converted minorities)"
Dr. K.P. Singh (Professor, Washington, University USA) were also present in the conference and covered the following topics -(1) How does international intellectual community view the constitutional and historical tempering by the fundamentalist government in India and its impact likely to be on India society as a whole. (2) Recommend, ways to inspire their interest in Dalits Struggle for Liberation in the future.
          Mr. Mohan Lal Mehmi (Gen Sec. Dr. Ambedkar Memorial Committee, Wolver Hampton, PB) spoke on the topic "How to involve the young to join our struggle". Mr. C. Gautam Gen. Sec. FABO, delivered his speech on Ambedkarite movement in UK and how they can contribute internationally. Mr. Mohan Lal Gill spoke on the topic "How to bring about closer co-ordination between different sections of our society".
          In this conference the other topics which were covered by the invited guest speakers were. (1) Globalisation, Liberalisation and Privatisation, Mass evictions of poor people from their ancestral homes to construct massive Dams but no sufficient compensation. (2) Economical status of lower castes in India, Educational, Social and Self awareness program raised by BAMCEF for their improvement. (3) Foreign aid distribution during Gujarat Earthquake in 2001 (4) Establishment of national organisation to co-ordinate with other human rights and non-governmental organisations to master support for forthcoming UN Human Rights convention. Also the topic on Women & Children issues, Dr. Ambedkar film, were also discussed and debated. Overall, the convention was a grand success and everybody felt a need to spread Phuley-Ambedkarite movement Internationally.
