Expressing
his views on the subject Mr. Mohd. Ramzan said that "You may be hearing
many things regarding the situation of Kashmir through the radio, T .V.,
newspapers and other media. You may be wondering about the kind of people living
in Kashmir. You may have developed your views about these people from this
propaganda. Since I have corme from Kashmir and I belong to Kashmir, I am
acquainted with the situation there. I can assure you that the situation is far
different than what you see in the media.
You
have learnt from other speakers in this conference that, the (brahmanical)
poison has spread everywhere. This program (National Convention) which is being
conducted here, is not for our personal gains. We may not derive any benefits
from this program but our coming generation is bound to be benefited by this
program. I am feeling very happy after attending this convention. What you think
about Kashmir (based on the propaganda of the media) is not a true picture. You
can judge it from the fact that representatives from Jammu and Kashmir are also
participating in this convention. You may be thinking that there is always
terror and continuous firing in Kashmir etc. But there is nothing like that.
People of Kashmir are also human beings like you. But the high caste people of
the society have suppressed us in Kashmir also. Caste exploitation exists in
Kashmir also. Only the poor (backward) people are getting affected by the
prevailing violence and terrorism in Kashmir. In Kashmir the Muslims are those
who were originally Indigenous. Years before they got themselves converted into
Islam and became Muslims. Their religion changed but the social status remained
the same. They are unable to get rid of the caste poison even in the new
religion. Then, being converts from SC/ST/OBCs, are looked at from a different
angIe. Haz
carries a great significance for Muslims. In Koran it is written that
"one should go to Haz,
but the biggest Haz
is showing path to all". In the end Mr. Ramzan stressed the need of
educating the children and requested the delegates to visit Kashmir. |
